How to Preserve your Pearls

Pearls are very delicate gemstones, the softness of pearls means they require special care unlike other gems. Pearls cannot be restored to their previous form or shine once damaged, therefore it is important to follow the below steps to keep your pearls in their best form.

• Store pearls away from your other jewelry to avoid scratches. Pearls must be stored in a way where they are allowed to breath, avoid storing them in plastic.
• Do not use any chemicals to clean your pearls. Wipe your pearls with a delicate piece of cloth and some water.
• Do not expose your pearls to any chemicals including soap, shampoo, perfume or makeup. Take your pearls off before showering, applying makeup or perfume and once it settles put on your pearl jewelry.
