How long does it take to receive bespoke jewelry?
The time required for the creation of a commissioned piece may vary depending on factors such as design complexity, availability of materials, and the meticulous sourcing of premium pearls.
At MATTAR we are committed to using only the finest natural pearls, which may sometimes necessitate additional time to ensure the quality and exclusivity of your piece. As such, we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates until all materials have been sourced and approved.
Throughout the production process, we will provide regular updates to keep you informed of any changes or delays. For smaller, less intricate pieces, production typically takes 3 to 5 weeks. However, for larger or more complex designs, the process may extend up to 12 weeks. The estimated timeline will be carefully discussed with you during the proposal and design phase to ensure realistic expectations.
Please note that while we strive to meet these deadlines, unforeseen circumstances, such as delays in sourcing rare materials, may occur. MATTAR cannot be held liable for delays that result from such factors, but rest assured we will work diligently to complete your bespoke piece to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We offer international shipping through DHL. However, please note that customs duties and taxes may apply and are the responsibility of the buyer.

Returns or exchanges can be made within 15 days of purchase under the following conditions:

How long is a MATTAR gift card valid?
A MATTAR gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
How many gift vouchers can be used per purchase?
Only one gift voucher can be used per purchase.
Can I top up a gift card I’ve purchased?
No, the gift cards cannot be topped up. You can always purchase a new card through our online store.
Can I choose the value of the gift card?
No, the gift cards come as pre-set values. However, you can purchase multiple gift cards at once.
Can I use one gift card over multiple purchases?
The full voucher amount must be used in one purchase.
Will VAT be deducted from the gift card amount?
Yes. The VAT amount will be deducted from the gift voucher.
Can the gift card balance be exchanged for cash or used to purchase another card?

How are the pearls sourced?
At MATTAR, we take great pride in using Bahrain's natural pearls, which develop without any human interference. Our licensed divers gather oysters by hand, ensuring preservation of the marine environment. Are your pearls cultured?
No. We take pride in working exclusively with natural pearls that develop without human interference, harvested sustainably by licensed divers in the Arabian Gulf. Furthermore, the trade and usage of cultured pearls is legally prohibited in Bahrain.
Do you provide certificates of Authenticity with your jewelry?
Yes. All our jewelry pieces come with DANAT certification, outlining the authenticity of the pearls as well as the weight and grading of the pearls used on the piece.
What are the different grades of pearls?
Pearls are graded based on several factors, including luster, surface quality, shape, color, and size. Our top-grade pearls are classified as Jiwan, representing the highest quality available.
Do pearls change color over time?
Pearls can change color over time due to exposure to elements like cosmetics, perfumes and other chemicals (like Chlorine and soap). Proper care can help maintain their original color.
Can I wear my pearls in the shower or swimming pool?
No. It is best to avoid wearing pearls in the shower, swimming pool, or any environment where they may be exposed to chemicals and chlorine.
What is the average lifespan of pearls?
With proper care, pearls can last a lifetime and even be passed down as heirlooms.
If I lose my pearl certificate can I get a replacement?
Yes. You are able to receive a replacement DANAT certificate upon request through our team, the replacement certificate will be labeled as a duplicate on the certificate as per DANAT’s rules and regulations.

What type of gold is used on the jewelry?
All of the gold used in our products is 18K gold.
What type of diamonds are used in the jewelry pieces?
All diamonds that are used in MATTAR jewelry pieces are graded VS1 or higher and are G/H color.

No, MATTAR does not offer a valuation service. Pricing information for products that are no longer available can only be disclosed to the buyer of the product in question.

Chaw is a term used commonly in the trade of natural pearls, Chaw (Chw) is a unit of measurement used to identify a pearl's weight. Carats (ct) and Methgal (mtl) are also other common units of measurement used to identify weight.
